Seeing Fenech-Soler’s name on a list of bands coming to Berlin sent an audible ripple of excitement around the LOLA office. We first came across this energetic, unashamedly joyous band at Glastonbury in 2011, where they gave a truly unforgettable performance. Their self-titled debut album had been released, though it was barely toured while lead singer Ben Duffy received treatment for cancer. That June, with Duffy recovered, those months of missed performances were unleashed to an unsuspecting audience, all of whom were crying happy tears and dancing in muddy boots as Duffy bounced around the stage.

So, the chance to see Fenech-Soler again can’t come quickly enough. Contemporaries of Delphic, Klaxons, and Friendly Fires, they are sure to appeal to Berlin’s dance-hungry crowds and give a mid-week performance so fun we’ll forget what day it is. Bring it on.
