Club Curating with The Honey Tapes

Garage Girls co-founders guide you through this month's hottest club events

Words By Becki & Kenza

Each month we invite a leading voice in the Berlin club scene to spill the tea on what tasty events they have lined up in their calendar. From delicious parties to quirky dungeons, prepare for your weekends to be entirely curated and your calendars to be spicier than ever.

Refuge Worldwide residents, and Garage Girls co-founders, The Honey Tapes are a female duo hailing from the UK who now call Berlin home. The two met when they first moved to the city, finding a spark with a big passion for similar music. They started their monthly show, The Honey Tapes, at the start of 2021, and are now hosting bi-monthly parties at Paloma. The ethos behind the duo is to support and celebrate the FLINTA community within dance music and for their turn behind the decks of Club Curating they made sure this community and their events took centre stage.
Make sure to catch Garage Girls on the 26th of November with a terrific installment of their club night at Paloma Bar – we’ll see you there.

What: Pitchfork w/ I.Jordan, Lyzza (Doss)
Where: Silent Green
When: 4th November

Starting in Chicago and Paris back in 2006, Pitchfork has recently added Berlin to its list of cities to host its  3-day festival. Featuring an eclectic mix of artists and genres, from big names to rising stars, across a variety of venues around the city, the lineup definitely has plenty to choose from. The one that caught our eye the most is at the unique Betonhalle in the silent quarter, which will be filled with high energy dance pumpers from I.Jordan and Lyzza. Hailed as one of electronic music’s most exciting producers and DJs, I. Jordan is guaranteed to bring the heat, if their latest releases with Fred Again… and Finn are anything to go by, then expect bops from start to finish.  Add to the mix Brazilian-born Lyzza producer and vocalist who is known for her experimental live performances: with these two powerhouses on the line-up, expect a real show.

What: Éclat Crew
Where: Fitzroy
When: 20th November

One thing we love about Berlin is the amount of incredible collectives that are supporting and representing the FLINTA community. The Éclat Crew in particular are one of our faves, and this event looks too good to miss. Perfect for the early birds amongst us, this Sunday party starts at 2pm and finishes at midnight, so you can have a day of dancing and still be in bed at a reasonable time before the Monday grind. A mixture of producers, DJs and artists, the Éclat crew have been making waves across Berlin and beyond since 2018 as a collection of female, trans and non-binary talents. They’ll be live performances from Anna Sharifi and Pepper Levain, and sets from Pooja B, Sara Miller and Bella Cuts. The highlight for us has to be Monibi b2b Acid Finky; two stars we love whose fun energy and genre mixing are the recipe for a lively set. The day will span from breaks and UKG, through to house, bass and techno, so there’s definitely something to tickle everyone’s taste buds.

What: Garage Girls presents Sarah Farina
Where: Paloma
When: 26th November

A definite date for your diary (we couldn’t resist adding this to our list) is our fourth installment of Garage Girls. This time we are so hyped to announce the bass ambassador, Sarah Farina. We’ve had our eye on this superstar since we started our Garage Girls series and we are beyond pumped to get her in the booth to throw down some absolute heat. Sarah Farina is a super-force to be reckoned with. Her badass productions are heavy with a sprinkling of joy and femininity, and her sets transcend serious basslines, with skillful cuts and harmonious blends. Sarah Farina will be joining us alongside our incredible resident and co-founder, DJ NORTHERN, who never fails to get the crowd going. Our bi-monthly night at Paloma is pretty popular and tickets are only available on the door, so get down early to avoid disappointment. Whether you’re already a UKG fan, or new to the genre, all we can promise you is that you will be sweating and bouncing from start til finish. See you on the dancefloor!

Keep up with The Honey Tapes on their Instagram, and don’t miss the chance to catch them live on November 26th.
Make sure you stay up to date with everything else happening in the city over on our events page!
