Signals Festival is returning for its third year to gather the work of Berlin’s most exciting emerging creatives and, this time, is asking the vital question: what is more real, our online or offline selves? An annual festival in collaboration with the Catalyst School of creative arts and technology, their focus this year is to probe our relationship with digital spaces and how they influence our sense of self and creation of identity.

The themes of this year’s festival centre on ideas of self-curation, the performance of perfection, and the problems posed by the emergence of the multi-self.

The festival is comprised of a day and night program spread over two days, and includes a huge range of events like live performances, DJ sets, talks, workshops, dialogues, film screenings and AV installations. As ever, you can count on Signals Festival to place proper representation at the centre of its ethos, so the lineup of guests and performers is diverse and gender-balanced.

Some highlights from the music lineup include performances from Kyoka, Ireen Amnes, and PERIGG. Besides musical acts and DJ sets, there’ll be immersive installations from audio artists like GhostRaum and Nina Pixel & Ground Tactics, as well as film screenings of winning shorts from the Berlin Student Film Festival. Partner educators leading interactive workshops will give insights into topics like working with spatial sound and understanding the art of DJing. And that’s barely scratching the surface of what’s on offer…

The event will take place at Funkhaus, a renowned venue with its roots as a GDR broadcasting complex. As an independent, non-profit festival with accessibility at its core, entry is more affordable than similar events in Berlin, with further reduced pricing for modest income visitors.

Tickets are €20 for all-weekend general admission, or €12 single entry on Friday/Saturday. LOLA members get an amazing 40% discount on all ticket offerings, for €8 single entry or €12 for a whole weekend ticket. Just show your latest LOLA newsletter on the door to confirm your discount. Join us to dance, learn, and discover new creatives!
