Not yet sampled the delights of Durchlüften? You’re missing out in a big way. Spread over four glorious weekends, the open air, hosted in the Humboldt Forum’s breezy courtyard, boasts a programme packed with music, art and literature from across the globe. It’s basically one big, beautiful cultural melting pot in the heart of the city.
The lineup for the series’ second weekend is as bold and tantalising as ever. Again, the tune component is seriously stacked with talent the world over. Grungy notes abound on Thursday thanks to Nichtseattle, Knarf Rellöm rocks the establishment with his soulful punk on Friday, and L.A. Salami poetics capture minds on Saturday evening. As per, DJ sets courtesy of DJ Henrelaxer3700 and Sanni Est will keep feet firmly on the dancefloor.
Again, it’s not all sonic sensations. Performances from the likes of City Horses, a collective using parkour to uncover the patriarchy behind city planning, and workshops exploring the intersection between art and protest, promise to stimulate the grey matter. There’s also plenty to keep the kids entertained too, including a picture book reading on Saturday morning.
So, if you missed out on the opener, don’t fret – just be sure to get down this weekend and take part in what’s set to be one of the summer’s cultural highlights. Chop chop!
