The Colombia Theater represents a step-up in venue size for San Francisco’s ear-shreddingly loud Thee Oh Sees, so it’ll be interesting to hear how their system copes with this onslaught.
Having just released their 11th album in only eight years, their recent LP A Weird Exits is a very close take on what their live show can actually amount to: jammy, pulsating and face-melting. Hot on the heels of their double live LP earlier this summer, there seems to be no stopping lead man John Dwyer, who for the first time has recorded an album with the rest of his live band. You’re in for a real treat here – there’s nothing quite like seeing this band live. Words fail in many ways, so go see them and savour the delight.
