Since opening in 2007, Galerie Bastian has hosted a number of exciting exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. The latest to grace its walls is an exhibit of German artist Anselm Kiefer’s paintings.
Kiefer’s unflinching willingness to address the darkness in Germany’s past, and the confrontational scale of his work, has made it almost impossible for him to have escaped any culturally-aware person’s attention, but if you aren’t familiar with his rich multi-media paintings this is a fantastic opportunity.
