Some Germans consider Bavaria a land unto itself. With it’s mountainous countryside, conservative politics, stately castles, and the glorious rolling ‘r’s’ of its German dialect, it’s a world away from the multicultural melting pot that is Berlin. But there’s one thing that sends the masses flocking from across the globe: Oktoberfest. That’s right, strapping on your Lederhosen and settling in for a month of beer, sausage and all-around debauchery is one of the principal highlights here in Deutschland. But don’t Berliners deserve an Oktoberfest of their own?
Well, the folks behind Lost in Wedding, the successful vegan pop-up collective has Bernd Sternzimmer and Manuel Reziproke cooking up an entirely animal-product-free, Oktoberfest-inspired dinner to quell your thirst for some true Bavarian specialties without harming a single Schwein. You’ll get to sample yummy chickpeas obatzda, preserved celery in hay-infused oil, mashed potatoes with flaxseed oil, cartelized sauerkraud roulade, and some lecker deserts to finish it all off. Make sure to RSVP on their Facebook page, as these Biertische are bound to fill up fast!
