Venue: Galerie Tanja Wagner
Opening: 22.02.19, 18:00 – 21:00

Soft light falling on a bloody condom, flesh touching flesh, a joyous swim in the nude. Lina Scheynius’ photography captures tender, intimate, and sensual moments of daily life – whether from the artist’s own personal experiences, or those of her close friends. She portrays the female body in all its expressions, with images of motherhood, sex, wrinkled flesh, solitude, birth, decay, and joy.

BODY, on view at Galerie Tanja Wagner, will be the artist’s first solo exhibition in Berlin. Originally from Sweden, the artist currently lives and works in London. Her work has been shown internationally and has been exhibited at Somerset House, London; Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe, Hamburg; Deichtorhallen, Haus der Photographie, Hamburg; Brandt Museum of Photographic Art, Odense; MUSA, Vienna and Foam, Amsterdam.
