It’s the little things that make summer in Berlin so special: wild swimming in the copious lakes; dining alfresco in the leafy (and not-so leafy) parks; cooling off from a forest cycle with a delicious Mate and Eis. (Side note: Germans really need to shout about their ice-cream more – it’s so delicious it comes in a very close second to Italian gelato.)
But one of the best aspects of the longer, warmer days is dancing outdoors with sunglasses on, yet still being at a club. While all-night clubbing offers a reprieve from the grey, dreary days of the German winter, summer clubbing celebrates the light. And one of the best daytime party spots is ELSE.
This Sunday UK label Rekids takes over the riverbank club with an epic line-up. Rekids co-owner Radio Slave will be showcasing his project with Patrick Mason, SRVD, while UK techno veteran Mark Broom will celebrate his latest release on Rekids with a pumping set. Zurich’s Deetron is jetting in to display his three-deck wizardry, fresh off the back of his debut EP for Running Back, Body Electric. You can already cancel any Monday plans as local hero Boys Noize will be ripping up the indoor hut room once the sun goes down. Bomb!
In a sentence: Techno, techno, techno.
