It’s been almost a year since Prague-based visual artist Martin Pavel concluded his ambitious year-long photography project in Berlin, and now the Daily Portrait Berlin book is ready for release.
Martin’s project saw him set a camera free in Berlin for a year. His subjects would be photographed nearly or completely naked in their homes by a stranger, who would then give them the camera. The next day, it would be their turn to photograph a stranger and pass the camera on. What resulted was a series of intimate photographs that capture the personalities and style of Berliners in 2015 and 2016, and a beautiful string of personal connections among the participants, who frequently kept in touch after the experience.
A successful crowdfunding campaign has now allowed Martin to publish the project as a book! Head along to Club der Polnischen Versager in Mitte to be among the first to see it.
