Once you’ve ticked off the usual suspects at Boxi and Maybachufer, head out for a Sunday saunter at this classic Flöhmarkt. Set alongside one of the main Prussian thoroughfares bisecting Tiergarten, this weekly flea market is a firm favourite for hardcore hagglers and lovers of bygone treasures.
It’s a tale of two halves here. The original Trödelmarkt (aka junk market), up and running since the seventies, is a certified cornucopia of curiosities, eye-catching antiques and faded paintings where old school dealers peddle their wares to bargain hunting hipsters. The slightly more recent arts and crafts market (established in the late eighties), is a great place to pick up artisanal and handmade bits. After you’re done browsing get lost in the park for a few hours before sipping a well earned pint at Cafe am Neuen See.
