Open air cinema screenings in the ruins of an abandoned GDR holiday camp

Date: 09.08.19 – 11.08.19

The Lakeside Film Festival is easily one of our calendar highlights, every single year. The setting, atmosphere and entertainment is a simply wonderful combination. Berlin-based pop-up cinema specialists Mobile Kino take their show on the road and set up shop in the heart of the Schlaube Valley. For three days you can swap the hustle and bustle of Berlin for more serene and relaxing climes.

By day, there is a programme of quality live music to enjoy, or you can take a swim in the lake, or you can do both – the festival site and the lake are a literal stone’s throw apart. It’s so good! By night there is an excellent selection of films on offer. There are three screens to choose from, so you there will definitely be something suited to your taste.

Camping is available on site, or you can book one of the cabins if that is more your thing. It’s about a two-hour drive or train ride east, near the Polish border. Early bird tickets go for €56 before July  15 and we cannot recommend this festival highly enough.
