Oddcity Episode One: Ofen Bar and the Sound of Silence

One venue owner’s creative solution to noise pollution

Overland Originals invite you to explore Odd City Berlin, an online video series that will take you on a journey through some of the most unique and eccentric oddities lurking in Europe’s most unusual metropolis.

From Germany’s first Vogueing house to a second-hand bookshop serving traditional British roast dinners, a workshop providing bespoke bikes exclusively for refugees, and a service that will deliver a string quartet directly to your house party, Odd City Berlin offers an alternative perspective on Germany’s quirky capital. The series is a collaborative project between filmmaker James McBreen and his production company Overland Originals, Grover, a platform supporting creatives, and LOLA Magazine.

In the first episode, we meet Dario Calfapietra, an Italian-native who found an inventive way to deal with gentrification and noise complaints in his live music bar in Neukölln.

You can enjoy live music at Ofen Bar almost every night of the week, check their Facebook page for listings.
